AM 586 High-Bandwidth Coupling Cavity is a sound source specifically designed for acoustic measurements. It operates by generating a pressure sound field within the coupling cavity and is commonly used for determining the sound pressure sensitivity of microphones and measuring the pressure-field frequency response of sound level meters. It can also be used for testing the Acoustic Overload Point (AOP) of microphones.
The AM 586 delivers outstanding performance, with a maximum sound pressure level exceeding 135 dB (@1 kHz) while maintaining distortion below 2%. It offers a measurement bandwidth from 10 Hz to 20 kHz, with an effective sound pressure level greater than 80 dB across the entire frequency range.
When used with the MegaSig PM 0083 Preamplifier & Power Amplifier, the system achieves excellent specifications, making it suitable for R&D testing or production testing of high-end audio products.
